Engine ECU for Mercedes-Benz Buses and Trucks
The Pumpe-Leitung-Düse (PLD) control unit for the Mercedes-Benz OM457 engine is one of the main engine control units used in heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It is responsible for managing and controlling the fuel delivery to the engine, and injectors, and processing the data from sensors and components related to the engine.
The main specifications of this control board are as follows:
- Compatible with eight-cylinder and six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz engines
- XPI and HPI injections
- Temperature sensor input
- Flywheel sensor input
- Oil pressure sensor input
- FAN control circuits
- Operational voltage range of 9 to 36 volts
- Two 16-pin and 55-pin input and output connectors
- Implementation of a high-tech fuel injection algorithm
- Cylinder control circuits and timing circuits
- Control circuits and sensor circuits
- Two CAN-based communication channels with the ability to connect to the vehicle’s CAN network at a speed of 1 megabit per second
- Compliance with up to Euro 5 standards
The hardware includes control circuits for 8-cylinder engines, which allows the use of this component in both 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder Mercedes-Benz engines by reprogramming the microcontroller. The device complies with all electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards and has successfully undergone over 150 hours of testing in the test chamber of the Iranian Diesel Engine Manufacturing Company (IDEM), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz engines in Iran.
